Entry 1

I recently joined the national geographic photo contest. Every week, the editor will pick pictures from hundreds of entries and the winning photos will be published in the monthly national geographic magazine. This is my first entry and it's my tribute to analog TV since we have around 2 months left before we switch to digital TV.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to everyone!

Here's a very unusual hi-tech christmas tree at the Grand Central Station in New York. I think the tree is around 50 ft. tall with dozens of 50 in. LCD TV's... wow...

We had an ice storm two weeks ago and I thought I've seen winter here in the states but when I woke up the day after the storm, I was surprised to see everything covered in ice. My neighbors and landlord were cleaning a lot of mess but I was taking pictures. I took a picture of this bush next to my window, I tried to capture an image of how the ice age might have started.

Last week, my band performed at a United Nations event in one of the buildings in the UN Plaza in New York City. One feature of the evening was a fashion show promoting anti-sweat shop designed clothes. It was my first time to be in a fashion show and it made me realize the difficulty in taking photos of moving models. Here's a picture of some of the models taken at the back stage during the show. This is my first portrait entry for my photoblog. I hope you like it!

Cherry?

I've been in the US for about 6 years now and there's a lot of things here that I still do not know. An example is this tree that has a cherry-like fruit, is it cherry? I do not know. Will somebody please tell me what it is!

Red House

My art guru was here for thanksgiving and I learned that we both enjoy photography. Before his return trip to NYC, we drove around my area and took pictures. This is an abandoned barn house not too far from where I live. I like how the red house blended with the dark colored landscape and the dark afternoon sky.
